Micro-Loan Update

We are thrilled to report that our very first micro-loans are in the process of being repaid. As a reminder, after our first book club meeting last winter, we made 2 loans to women entrepreneurs in Kenya. We were able to make a small loan to Elly for farming. This loan was in default for a while, but has now been 61% paid back!

Our second loan was made to Rose, who is also a farmer in Kenya. Despite drought and difficult growing conditions, she has consistently been making re-payments and has paid back 38% of her loan.

We’ve almost had enough repaid to make a new loan! Want to weigh in on our next micro-loan? Pop over to Kiva, browse through the campaigns, and let us know what you think!
